Single child injured in Chicago car accident
Every now and then, a car accident occurs that reminds drivers why it is so important to use caution and care when behind the wheel. A recent Illinois car accident between a school bus and a car left a young child injured.
The car crash occurred in Chicago near where 16th Street and Racine Avenue intersect. According to law enforcement, shortly after 3 p.m., the driver of the car was travelling south when she failed to stop at a stop sign. She crashed into a school bus, which was travelling westbound on 16th Street. The 48-year-old female driver of the car received a citation from police, following the accident for running the stop sign.
One minor child was injured in the crash, and transported to a nearby hospital. Her condition was stable at the time. It is unclear whether the school bus was carrying any children or if the minor child was a passenger in the other car.
Victims of serious car accidents, or their loved ones, can talk with an Illinois car accident lawyer about options for recovery and their right to compensation. There are a number of issues that need to be addressed in a legal claim. Lawyers can analyze traffic citations and rules of the road. A full recovery should also address medical expenses and other related costs that occurred as a result of the accident and another driver&s negligence.
Even though it may seem obvious who was at fault in an accident, the injured party still bears the burden of proof to show that another driver negligently caused the crash and the injury. A good defense can also help accidents victims meet this burden of proof in order to have a full recovery.
